PNY Technologies announced that it will showcase the new Nvidia Quadro Plex 1000 Model III, a breakthrough multi-GPU visual computing system, at HD World 2006, November 29-30 (Booth # 1021).

PNY will demonstrate how the Nvidia Quadro Plex 1000 Model III and Brainstorm eStudio virtual studio and 3D broadcast graphics software enhance HDTV broadcast programming. HD-SDI graphics-to-air solutions shown will include character generation and realtime HD virtual sets for news, sports, and weather.

Designed to power multiple HD-SDI graphic channels or 4K high-definition video, the Nvidia Quadro Plex 1000 Model III is configured with two Nvidia Quadro FX 5500 GPUs and two Nvidia Quadro SDI boards, providing 2GB of frame buffer and delivering uncompressed HD-SDI output. The Nvidia Quadro Plex 1000 Model III and the Nvidia Quadro FX 5500 SDI by PNY both enable broadcasters, film production, postproduction, and finishing professionals to preview the results of 3D compositing, HD on-air graphics, and color grading in realtime on high-definition broadcast monitors.

"At HD World 2006, our goal is to demonstrate why the Nvidia Quadro Plex 1000 model III is the perfect system for creating realtime 3D graphics for live HD broadcasts,” says Jeff Medeiros, business development manager, PNY Technologies. "The power, performance, and reliability of this system, combined with its ability to generate and output HD-SDI content in realtime, make it the ideal solution for a live broadcast environment.”

Brainstorm, a pioneer in realtime 3D graphics broadcast solutions, has an impressive list of customers worldwide including BBC, NBC, ESPN, RTL and TVE.

According to Paul Lacombe, president of Brainstorm America: "The Nvidia Quadro Plex 1000 model III coupled with Brainstorm's eStudio software, provides our customers with the ability to create realtime HD, broadcast-quality 3D graphics, allowing them to enhance their live-to-air programming with dynamic content and visuals. The speed of the system allows reflections, complex textures, and shadows to be generated during live data streaming.”

Also, PNY Technologies will display Google Earth, Google's satellite imagery-based mapping product, to demonstrate the stunning image quality and speed of the Nvidia Quadro FX 5500 SDI by PNY. Google Earth's 3D visually simulated, photo-realistic images will be displayed on an ultra-high resolution HD monitor using the HD-SDI output of the Nvidia Quadro FX 5500 SDI by PNY.
