Panasonic offers hi-res mastering

If you're one of those facilities that rely on Panasonic's D-5 HD VTR for mastering, you might be interested in the company's recently announced AJ-HDP2000. The add-on unit enables recording, editing, and archiving of 12-bit 4:4:4 2K (2048×1080) and 4:4:4 HDTV images onto a D-5 deck. The HDP2000 uses Digital Cinema Initiative-specified JPEG 2000 compression, and it includes a dual-link SDI I/O (SMPTE 372M) interface. The processor works with Panasonic AJ-HD3700H, AJ-HD3700A, and AJ-HD3700B D-5 HD VTRs. www.panasonic.com/broadcast
