The Freedom Forum, a nonpartisan foundation dedicated to free press, free speech, and free spirit for all people, has unveiled its design for a new, expanded Newseum in Washington, D.C., to help the public and the news media understand one another better.

The new museum, located between the U.S. Capitol and the White House, will feature six levels of displays and experiences that go far beyond the offerings of the original facility in Arlington, Va.

Using the most advanced technology, the new Newseum delivers content to various theaters, projectors, and digital screens located throughout the facility at unprecedented high-definition video quality, up to HD progressive at 1920x1200p.

Visitors can view content at the locations coming from strategically situated control rooms in the facility.

Opticomm’s single-fiber DVI-1000 systems, supporting a progressive resolution of 1920x1200p, have been selected to transport the uncompressed video feeds to the various locations. No compression is used, and no compromise is made. All locations will receive the feeds over optical fiber to ensure the retention of the high image quality unaffected by external factors despite the extended distances.
