IT enables new GV approach

At IBC 2005, GV announced the Infinity series, a capture and recording system that uses open IT-based standards for media, recording, and I/O. The Infinity digital media camcorder and the Infinity digital media recorder function in a plug-and-play manner; it's straightforward to connect to external storage devices or PCs via built-in USB, FireWire, or Gigabit Ethernet. The camcorder uses off-the-shelf Iomega REV or REV Pro removable disks and professional-grade CompactFlash solid-state memory as recording and playback media. The 14-bit Infinity camcorder provides a choice of video formats and standards selectable within the camera: 525i60, 625i50, 1080i50, 1080i60, 720p50, or 720p60.
