PD606
Fostex adds new capabilities to its PD line of digital field recorders with the six-track PD606 released at AES 2007. Recording frequencies are pretty thorough: 24-bit 44.1kHz/48kHz/ 88.2kHz/96kHz/ 176.4kHz/192kHz and 16-bit 44.1kHz/48kHz. Features to note include full-size DVD-RAM disc recording, eight-track recording to an internal hard drive, dual-drive recording, improved power efficiency, digital mixer input routing, HD drive access through USB 2.0, high-resolution LED meters, analog and digital I/O, and timecode with tri-level sync. Power options include NiCad and IDX Endura cells, while a 9-pin ES buss offers remote-control possibilities.
