Formatt HD/DV Soft Effects
The Formatt HD/DV Soft Effects glass filter is designed to soften the harsh outlines that high-definition video can expose—thereby appeasing talent leery of exposing their age lines to an HD lens and imager. A small part of the filter’s surface area has a series of small lenses on it to produce a controlled spherical aberration, avoiding the risk of secondary focus at short focal lengths, as may happen with other soft filters. The small lenses are distributed within the filter area in a stochastic pattern, eliminating the danger of moiré fringing even in difficult conditions such as sunlit water surfaces.
