With more of us wanting mobility, even when editing or doing other post work, manufacturers are following suit. HP's EliteBook 8730w mobile workstation takes things even further by incorporating a DreamColor display (optional). The 24-bit color-depth technology delivers vivid images via new processing technology, and tri-color LED backlit LCDs result in higher nit luminance and a larger contrast ratio compared to many traditional notebook displays, according to the company. Users can select among various processors (Intel Core 2 Duo including Extreme and quad-core) and graphics cards (ATI or Nvidia's ISV-certified workstation graphics with up to 512MB of dedicated VRAM). You can select a Blu-ray drive for HD-content playback or for writing files of up to 50GB on a dual-layer disc. An eSATA port provides a fast connection to an external storage device.
