You may not think you need one at first — after all, you're a pro and your job is to make video — but the Accordent Capture Station turns out as a time-saving turnkey appliance for a busy production manager. How's that? Well, the software/hardware combo allows you to simply plug in any VGA-enabled device (that might be a laptop or projector) and then straight away record and synchronize audio, video, and data output from that device to instantly create an online multimedia presentation. For a busy inhouse staff, that can save great chunks of time and effort that would be better spent creating an actual production. Version 4.1, which debuted at NAB, offers support for Adobe Flash, Microsoft Silverlight, HD, video podcasting (H.264 format), and RSS feeds.
