Improved field monitoring
Last year, location production companies welcomed Panasonic's BT-LH1700W 17in. multiformat color production monitor, with its rugged frame featuring splitscreen freeze and a built-in waveform monitor — among other useful features. Panasonic follows that up at NAB 2008 with the debut of the BT-LH1760. It's another 17in. production monitor, but it has even more advanced features, such as a 120Hz refresh rate — ideal for sports and other fast-moving subjects — and In-Plane Switching (IPS), which is said to offer greatly improved off-axis viewing. Other features include a built-in waveform monitor and vectorscope, pixel-to-pixel matching (that means no messy image resizing), and an array of I/O options. www.panasonic.com/broadcast
