Today's increasingly complex digital signage often requires computers for setup or even to operate. Instead of requiring a separate computer, NEC designed the single-board MPD-SBC to fit into the expansion slots found on most NEC large-format LCD displays. Using such an internal PC eliminates the need for external cabling, mounting, and power-supply equipment — resulting in a simplified installation and reduced maintenance.
