Multitouch LCD screen

Interactivity is a new angle for displays aimed at the public. At CES 2008, LG.Philips LCD addressed the market by introducing what it calls the world's largest multitouch panel, and it may well be, with its 52in. diagonal size. The screen employs an infrared image sensor that enables it to recognize two separate touchpoints (using two hands at once) as well as gestures. It sports full 1920×1080 resolution, and it has enough precision to recognize handwriting. Because it uses a transflective backlight, the company claims that the screen is readable in almost all lighting conditions — even direct sunlight.
