Broadcast Pix makes steps to stay ahead of the competition with the introduction of its Slate 5000 switcher series. Offering 2 ME (mix/effects) — claimed as a first for a live production system — the setup's ergonomics will allow one operator to handle complex graphics, animations, clips, and effects — as well as control robotic cameras, audio mixers, and video servers, according to the Billerica, Mass.-based company.
