Although Apple announced a beefed up color correction product for Final Cut Pro (FCP) at NAB, the jury is out on how well it will work with third-party apps.
Automatic Duck and Red Giant Software aim to lend a hand. The two companies recently announced a collaboration to create a trouble-free route for FCP users to export extensive color correction info to Adobe After Effects.
With this workflow, FCP users who work with both the Red Giant Software Magic Bullet Colorista color correction plug-in and After Effects can now go beyond FCP’s 8-bit RGB rendering to gain access to 10-bit or higher RGB finishing. www.automaticduck.com and www.redgiantsoftware.com
