Moving a video production to mobile handsets can involve a lot more work to prep it for the reduced real estate. With the wide-frame format of HD, or even SD, details will be lost on a small screen, especially with action such as sports. At IBC 2007, CloseVU demo’d its namesake Producer with a new capability, Live Smart Zoom. With the new chops, CloseVU Producer allows you to work in live or postproduction environments, target the desired scene, and have the Windows-based software automatically track the movement. On-the-fly Live Smart Zoom then computes the framing, and fine tunes and stabilizes the images for a view that fits a mobile screen.
