NASCAR “Engine City”

Fox Sports and BUF have teamed up once again with the release of “Engine City.” It is the latest marketing tool to show off the 2008 season of NASCAR. Mark Denyer-Simmons and Jason Scott, co-creators of the spot, worked hand-in-hand with BUF to bring their vision to life. It was eight weeks in the making, with the end product airing during this year's telecast of the Super Bowl. To go along with the 3,000 hours of rendering for 42 shots using 60 machines, BUF unveiled its new rendering software Brender. For the 2D and 3D work, BUF used its home-grown Bstudio and Bpaint. For final output and conform, BUF used Autodesk Flame version 2007 SP4.

Little Minx Short Films

Based on the French parlor game of the same name, a new web-film series, dubbed Exquisite Corpse, was created by the commercial production company Little Minx — a division of RSA Films (Ridley Scott's production company) — to showcase the company's talented lineup of directors.

Assembling a roster of unique directors that work in film, television, and commercial production, the production company chose four directors — Chris Nelson, Josh Miller, Malik Hassan Sayeed, and Phillip Van — to write and direct their own short films, all following one golden rule: They must respond to the last line of text from the previous director's script.
