DVS Digital Video, the U.S. subsidiary of Hanover, Germany-based DVS, now offers do-it-yourself system builders the Centaurus II, an upgrade for its workhorse Centaurus board.
Available in a PCI-X 133 and a PCI Express version, Centaurus II supports all of the major video and film formats from SD video up to 4K film over SDI I/O, dual-link DVI, and analog outputs. The board converts video data on the fly to different color spaces and various kinds of metadata organizations. There is support for 12 channels of AES/EBU and 16 embedded audio channels. Also on board: timecode support, RS-422 remote control, wordclock output, and a GPI interface. For those who code, a DVS SDK opens up more editing, compositing, and storage options.
