If you have to come up with lots of effects looks, it’s good to check out new packages. While Noise Industries might not be well known, the company is already releasing version 2 of FxFactory, which is designed for Apple Final Cut Studio and Final Cut Express users. Each of the 52 new plug-ins are fully customizable. Field-based rendering keeps quality high for filters, including Artist Sketch, which generates a stylized black-and-white version of the original, and Heat, which recreates the distortion and color adjustments caused when light passes through a hot gas. An improved contextual parameter interface, meanwhile, disables and/or hides when it is not relevant to the current parameter configuration.
