With a new version of Adobe's Flash 8 delivered, the app should continue to gain in popularity for web animation, as well as for use with cell phones, PDAs, and other media gear.

Now, usability grows with 4G Software's 3Dcam. The plug-in enables users to move a camera in 3D space, making it straightforward to change perspective as desired by using just a few key frames, according to the Montreal-based company. Features include viewpoint windows and Motion Guides, which help in setting up camera movements and flythroughs. Output is flexible, with choices including SWF, PNG, and QuickTime. www.4gsw.com
