The Zacuto Lightweight Support System (Z-LWS) eliminates this problem. The company touts the Z-LWS as the first universal lightweight support plate to work with all Sony, Panasonic, Canon, and JVC cameras that use a wedge-style tripod plate. Features unique to the Z-LWS include the ability to incorporate two Z-Release mounts into the plate. These mounts allow you to attach any Z-Release-equipped products directly to your Z-LWS plate. This is useful because it frees you from mounting equipment on your camcorder, minimizing potential damage.
