Sony's HVR-Z7U and HVR-S270OU camcorders received kudos when they started delivering earlier this year, with features such as a trio of newly designed 1/3in., 3-megapixel ClearVid CMOS sensors and the functionality of direct recording to CompactFlash solid-state memory attracting attention. But although the cameras feature interchangeable lenses, sometimes you just need to go a tad wider or have a bit more zoom to get a shot.
