Starter series
While some companies are starting to address the market for prompters aimed at emerging and non-traditional users, until recently, you couldn't find much from established equipment makers. With the introduction of its Starter line at NAB Show 2008, industry veteran QTV obviously sees a market in going after budget-conscious customers. Designed with the same hood, brackets, and mounting plates as QTV's Master and Professional lines for mainstream broadcasters, Starter customers have a straightforward upgrade path if they need to grow too. Prompters are available in either 10in. or 17in. diameters, with enough brightness (350 to 500 nits) to handle standard lighting setups, except for full sunlight or very bright studio lighting.
