While solid-state memory storage hasn't dropped in price or grown in size as radically as disk-based types, it's slowly getting there. When Panasonic introduced its first P2 card in 2004, 4GB of storage went for about $1,700. While final pricing hasn't been announced, the latest 64GB P2 card (model AJ-P2C064) is expected to cost about the same amount when it ships later this year. That 64GB P2 card can store more than 2 hours of DVCPRO 50 or AVC-Intra 50, or 64 minutes of AVC-Intra 100 or DVCPRO HD.
