AG-HMC70
The AVCHD format spec, released last year, provides a way to record H.264-based HD signals to either 8cm. DVDs or solid-state memory. While some consider it a consumer-only format, like many such prior video innovations, there seems to be enough reason for pros to use it too. Panasonic has introduced the shoulder-mount AG-HMC70 AVCHD camcorder, which uses three native 16:9 progressive 1/4in. CCDs to capture 1080i images that store onto standard SD/SDHC memory cards. Features include live feed capability (widescreen 1440×1080 HD), 12X Leica wide-angle zoom lens, one-push auto focus, and integrated Optical Image Stabilization (OIS).
