Wind is a major hindrance to capturing clean audio, as M. Klemme, the manufacturer of K-Tek boom poles, knows well. Shooters slide fuzzy windscreens onto microphones to absorb the whooshing of wind before it hits the mesh. The M. Klemme Zeppelin Fleecy windscreen is designed not for boom mics, but for shotguns—particularly those mounted to handheld DV/HDV camcorders. The Fleecy has an exterior of charcoal-gray fleece backed with a tight-weave microfiber, which is fitted over a body of open-cell foam that slides over most popular shotgun mics.
