Help from a hi-hat

The look they enable can be overused, but hi-hats, used moderately, help deliver intriguing low-angle shots. Manfrotto's 529B hi-hat starts low — at only 5.7in. — and tops out at 7.7in. Adjustable leg angles are flexible in tight locations. Weighing a trim 5.5lbs., the 529B can hold up to 44lbs. on its rubber-padded feet; a hole in the unit allows it to be screwed or nailed to wood surfaces. The 529B, which features a 100mm bowl, works with a number of heads and adapters from Manfrotto, as well as other manufacturers.
