HVR-Z7U and HVR-S270U

Camcorder users get even more choice as competition heats up throughout the major players’ product lines. Late last year, Sony introduced two new camcorders that add on higher-end features such as interchangeable lens systems (OK, JVC and Canon have done that already), better low-light capability (to a low 1.5 lux), and “hybrid” solid-state recording. The handheld HVR-Z7U and shoulder-mount HVR-S270U feature three of the company’s latest-generation 1/3in.CMOS sensors (they feature a rotated pixel layout, which improves pixel surface area) and improved electronics (lower noise, wider dynamic range), and they even accept an adapter that allows users to attach one of Sony’s consumer digital SLR still-camera lenses.
