New chops for small camcorders
Small camcorders are good bets for location scouting or sometimes just to carry around for some impromptu shooting. A new series of inexpensive Canon Elura models goes beyond the ordinary offerings with 16:9 shooting modes and FireWire connectivity. The Elura 80, Elura 85, and Elura 90 also feature an LCD backlight and longer zoom range than earlier models. The Elura 80 and 85 models feature an 18X optical zoom, while the Elura 85 also includes a mic terminal and improved night shooting mode. The camcorders also sport a 1.33 megapixel CCD image sensor for still imaging.
