This past NAB, Arri demo’d the SpeedGrade DDS Digital Dailies Production package, a new option for the Arriscan, aimed at improving data logging and speeding up turnaround times for dailies grading.
You’ve got to hand it to Iridas: This small, aggressive company keeps busy, making a wide range of deals with such manufacturers as Arri, Vision Research, and Silicon Imaging to incorporate its color-handling software into products such as Silicon Imaging’s SI-2K digital cinema camera and Vision Research’s recently released high-speed Phantom cameras. Iridas’ latest Service Pack 1 for SpeedGrade OnSet 2006 uses nondestructive LUTs applied during a shoot to give filmmakers a good sense of what their footage will look like, and allows them to communicate that look to post. www.iridas.com
